How Hot Tub Removal Works

Once the power is off and the water is out, we assess the access situation. In most backyards, the hot tub can’t be moved whole — the gate is too narrow, the deck too small, or the tub too heavy to carry. In these cases, we cut the tub apart with reciprocating saws and carry it out in sections. This is the standard approach and it’s faster than trying to wrestle a 700-pound shell around tight corners.

We remove the shell, the foam insulation, the pump and motor assembly, the equipment cabinet and panels, and all the plumbing components. Everything gets loaded into our truck and hauled away.

Access Challenges in Chesapeake Backyards

A lot of homes in Chesapeake and the surrounding Hampton Roads area have fenced-in backyards with single-gate access. If the hot tub went in before the fence was built — which happens more than you’d think — or if the gate is a standard 36-inch opening, getting a full hot tub out in one piece is physically impossible.

What Happens to the Old Hot Tub
